The best around. You won’t be disappointed. The owner cares about his work, his customers, and his employees. There are many contractors but none come close to the quality these guys do . Would recommend for almost anything construction related.

We used The Mex as the general contractor for a custom renovation of our brownstone. The quality of their work is top notch and we are extremely pleased with the results. Additionally, we lived in our home through the construction - all of the workers were respectful and left our home spotless at the end of every work day. Finally, they are sensitive to deadlines and work quickly and efficiently. We would use The Mex again without question for any further construction needs.

Beginning with the first visit the principal (Gabriel Hernandez) made to our house, we felt there was something special and good about this company. There was a "can do" attitude. Every time we raised a particular issue or potential problem with our project, Gabriel always tried to accommodate our needs and solve every problem. The company worked hard to adapt to our family schedule. The work was done on-budget and on-time. And the quality of the work was very high. During construction, Gabriel and his team found a few things that needed extra work and attention. They always diagnosed the issue and came up with solutions that kept us on track with regard to budget and time. No problem was insurmountable. They also coordinated well with a variety of subcontractors. The subs they chose did nice work, and helped make the whole project flow seamlessly. They all seemed happy to be working on another project with The Mex. We would be happy to recommend The Mex to anyone who is looking to get a major project done in the Hoboken/Hudson County area.

Redid a bathroom in my business in Hoboken. It was done in two days during off hours and great craftsmanship. Cleaned up after each day working and to this day no issues with the plumbing or anything. Highly recommend these guys and I will definitely be using them for my next job!

We can highly recommend Mex Construction. We used them during 2018 to complete a three story brownstone extension and full basement gut-renovation. Gabriel was a pleasure to work with and highly engaged throughout the entire eight month project. To begin, Gabriel has terrific relationships with Hoboken city and local architect, which ensured that the necessary permitting process ran very smoothly and ultimately the project began exactly as planned. His team are highly skilled professionals that have significant experience working on Hoboken brownstones. The team working on the project remained the same throughout the entire project, which gave us terrific confidence in the guys performing the work and the quality of the work being completed. Gabriel continued to discuss every aspect of the job along the way and was proactive with providing options when decisions were required. Gabriel was also very clear when decisions would add time or cost to the project. He was was very helpful with identifying when to consider more costly alternatives versus when lower cost options were appropriate. We were very hands on with the final design and finish of the construction. In this area we found Mex Construction extremely good. Gabriel really prides himself on providing an extremely high quality finish. Overall, the project was delivered on time and on budget, even when we made some changes to the initial design. Finally, Gabriel has been good at remaining in contact to address follow up items one can expect with a project of this size and when working on a home that is over 100 years old.
